Christmas Tree Info

The Christmas tree shortage continued last year and is projected to continue into the future. When the economy stuttered in 2008, many growers exited the business and too few trees were planted. If we didn’t have a good supplier relationship, we simply wouldn’t have any trees at all. We will be able to fill all accepted orders for this year, but will again only have a few extras in each size. To ensure you get one of these magnificent trees this year, please place your order very soon.

Our Fraser Fir trees are hand selected specifically for The Garden Patch and to avoid bare spots and broken branches. They are cut at dawn in the North Carolina mountains, bundled with care and delivered to us by North Carolinians before noon that same day. When they arrive, we stand the trees in water until they’re ready to move to their new homes beginning on the day after Thanksgiving. These are softest, freshest and most aromatic trees you’ll find anywhere. They retain their needles well while staying fragrant and soft throughout the Holiday Season. Unlike run-of-the-mill trees which are often cut many weeks earlier, not hand selected, have dried sufficiently to lose their aroma and develop loose needles, those we sell are truly premium trees. For many, these are the most desireable trees available despite some added cost.

As in years past, we will also feature a large selection of beautiful poinsettia plants, colorful decorative ribbons and green wreaths made from live Fraser Fir branches on wire frames. These will be on display and ready for pickup on the day after Thanksgiving and until supplies are exhausted.
